Edition of 750 three-volume sets, of which:

  • 650 with the two text volumes bound in quarter cloth and the volume of illustrations in full cloth.

  • 80 with the two text volumes bound in full Nigerian goatskin.  The third volume contained the illustrations and a parallel printing of the Introductory book of Seven Pillars, before and after corrections by Bernard Shaw and others. 

  • 20 were in a specially designed inlaid binding

A specially bound limited edition of 56 copies with additional materials. 

  • 46 two-volume sets were bound by Smith Settle in quarter goatskin. These were accompanied by a 23-page essay titled Authorised Biographer

  • 10 three-volume sets were bound by Smith Settle in full goatskin. In these sets (illustrated above), Authorised Biographer was extended by a 100-page Appendix of letters and documents written during Jeremy Wilson's work on the biography.
